Action Against Hunger USA is part of the Action Against Hunger International network. As an independent NGO, Action Against Hunger USA currently manages operations in 8 countries: Kenya, South Sudan, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zambia and Haiti.

The Junior Administrator assists with fundraising systems needs. This role will maintain the effective and proper use of our fundraising systems, including timely and accurate support, troubleshooting, and implementation. The Junior Administrator will be a support team member responsible for executing the day-to-day administration of ACF’s Salesforce platform, helping to ensure smooth system operations, and supporting the optimization of workflows for the team through automation.

This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Fundraising Systems and works closely with the Fundraising Systems and Data Governance Officer. It will also engage with other members of the External Relations department to support the fundraising systems utilized by the teams.

This role is the administrator and maintainer of systems and tools used by fundraising teams, including the Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud environment, data structures, and configuration, and implements improvements to all fundraising systems needed to support critical functions across the External Relations department.

Essential Job Duties

Systems Administration

  • Support the team as system administrator for the Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud environment, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement, and other tools used by the private fundraising team, such as Basecamp, Bitwarden, and Funraise
  • As a system administrator, troubleshoot issues and errors, test and monitor system performance, manage user roles and security permissions, and set up and maintain workflow rules and configuration as directed
  • Act as the first point of contact with Salesforce representatives and escalate issues as needed.
  • Research, install, and maintain appropriate applications from the AppExchange
  • Gather detailed requests for improvements or changes to the system and implement these changes as appropriate
  • Document customizations made in Salesforce
  • Regularly audit data entered by the Gift Processing Associate(s) and other External Relations staff and flag any discrepancies in data accuracy and adherence to data governance policies and procedures
  • Maintain data hygiene and cleanliness

Systems Support, Integrations, and Automation

  • Implement plans to automate processes using Salesforce tools such as process builder, flow automation, validation rules
  • Support Salesforce integrations with other tools and applications, such as Mogli, PowerBI, Funraise, and the organization’s enterprise Microsoft environment
  • Work closely with the Development Operations Associate to create and maintain reporting and analytics in PowerBI and Salesforce

Staff Training and Skill Development

  • Support and facilitate training for new users on all fundraising systems
  • Provide ongoing training for existing users for new features and grow the Salesforce skillset across the External Relations team

Other duties as required

  • Participate in key Fundraising Systems team project

Required Qualifications

  • 3-4 years of related experience, which may include Salesforce,
  • systems administration, fundraising database experience, operations
  • support, project management, and/or other relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Salesforce Admin (ADM201 and ADM211) certification is a plus but not required

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong Salesforce interest and ability to quickly master new technology.
  • Business analysis skills, with the ability to be open to team feedback for needed changes, implement new business processes, and execute optimal technical solutions on the development roadmap.
  • Adept project management skills and a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and handle and prioritize simultaneous requests.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and communicate about technical issues with non-technical team members who are experiencing issues.
  • Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Brings a mindset of continuous improvement
  • Passion and interest in Action Against Hunger’s mission
  • Familiarity with Salesforce best practices and functionality preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Salesforce platform, with the ability to build custom apps and objects, formula fields, processes, custom views, and other content of intermediate complexity, is a plus
  • Prior experience working with nonprofit donor data is preferred
