POSITION SUMMARY

As a member of the Murdock Trust Technology Team, the IT Analyst works as a part of the team responsible for providing technology support and services to the organization. The IT Analyst serves as an application technical subject matter expert, provides system administration and support, and performs system configuration, enhancement, and deployment efforts. This role will serve as an active partner, collaborating across IT and with organizational leaders to provide strategic analysis and develop data-driven insights. Additionally, this individual will serve as the liaison between organizational teams, third-party vendors, and across IT for system integrations, enhancements, and issue fixes. The IT Analyst will demonstrate appropriate proficiency in project management, data analytics and reporting, communication with leadership, as well as system knowledge, process analysis, and configuration abilities.  

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Applications Administration (50%)

  • Participate in and implement project solutions; implement ongoing enhancements to improve application capabilities
  • Perform ongoing application maintenance activities
  • Maintain IT Application including data, application version, configuration, user access/profile, integration, and management
  • Plan and perform regression testing for periodic releases
  • Assist with Ad-hoc report development
  • Review new functionality to determine the impact on existing processes
  • Adherence to internal controls and approval processes/change management
  • Bring best practice insight into application capabilities and configuration options
  • Understand and apply application methodologies

Applications Support (20%)

  • Cultivate and share knowledge of application capabilities and configuration
  • Address break/fix and service requests submitted by application users, serving as a primary support person for applications
  • Provide Production Support, including triage, bug fixes, enhancements, end-user support, and application monitoring 
  • Assist with testing and support
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues encountered by users
  • Assist users with system questions

Technical Project Support (20%)

  • Identify and document business requirements, functional design, process design (including scenario design, and flow mapping), prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures
  • Participate in working sessions with business to gather, understand, and analyze business requirements
  • Support the Director of IT in architecting solutions to ensure work streams are cohesive and cross-functional impacts are considered and mitigated
  • Advise business teams on industry standards and leading practices
  • Developing a working knowledge of processes and custom validations
  • Participate in and implement project solutions
  • Project planning and delivery of IT application solutions

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Works and partners with all members of the Trust to be responsive to the needs of users and to work on projects as needed. 
  • Maintains liaisons with user community, technical staff, and support organizations for resolution of issues. 
  • Collaborates with the user community in testing new processes and companion applications.

General

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree required, degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or related field, or IT certification, preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of IT applications platform experience including eliciting business requirements, developing detailed systems specifications, designing, and prototyping, testing, defining support procedures, data conversion, and implementing business process improvements
  • Progressively responsible management of complex projects, including the management of multiple simultaneous or overlapping projects with a demonstrated history of successful delivery. An understanding of and experience with the practical application of project management tools and techniques is preferred.
  • Understanding of business fundamentals that the application supports
  • Demonstrated experience within complex business environments and demonstrated success with IT application solutions
  • Demonstrated experience with networking, cloud solutions, Software as a Service, databases, data flow, and cybersecurity
  • Experience with low-code solutions and database scripting/querying experience
  • Working knowledge of Windows Active Directory and Exchange
  • Demonstrated experience with project planning and delivery of IT Application solutions
  • Understanding of browser-based applications, sessions, SSL, and UI technologies
  • Familiarity with cloud concepts (both public and private cloud), Cloud servers, storage and networking systems, Azure or AWS, content distribution networks, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and maintain a reliable and methodical approach to troubleshooting.
