Privacy-compliant digital fundraising

People are becoming more aware of how their personal data is being used — and they're taking action. It turns out, 72% of people feel that almost all of what they do online is being tracked. And, 81% of that group say that the potential risks they face because of data collection outweigh the benefits.

In response, countries around the world are putting data privacy legislation into place. This is changing the ways nonprofits raise mission-critical funds. As tech companies like Apple, Meta, and Google adjust their practices, it’s already causing trickle-down effects on how nonprofits can reach their known and new audiences.

This course will help you understand the state of data privacy. You’ll uncover how to break down silos and foster conversations about how your nonprofit can follow data minimization best practices. You’ll learn how to collect good data in a compliant fashion that respects your constituents. You’ll also explore ways to forecast and adjust for the fundraising impact of changing data privacy practices.

While anyone is welcome to take this course, it will be most beneficial if you do digital fundraising or online engagement as part of your job, or if you work with people in those roles.
