ABOUT US
Founded in 2006, the California Domestic Workers Coalition (CDWC) is the state’s leading voice for the more than 300,000 domestic workers in California. The CDWC is a domestic worker-led, statewide alliance of community-based organizations, domestic employers, worker centers, labor unions, faith groups, students, and policy advocates. Together with our members, we are advancing a movement for the rights and dignity of immigrant women workers by building power through legislative advocacy, grassroots organizing, and leadership development.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
CDWC is in the process of updating and centralizing our constituent relationship management and data analysis infrastructure; we have done some basic needs assessment and determined that Salesforce can meet our needs for relationship and participation tracking for programs and fundraising, as well as for reporting on data submitted to us by partner organizations.
We expect the project process to include:

PROJECT OVERVIEW
CDWC is in the process of updating and centralizing our constituent relationship management and data analysis infrastructure; we have done some basic needs assessment and determined that Salesforce can meet our needs for relationship and participation tracking for programs and fundraising, as well as for reporting on data submitted to us by partner organizations.
We expect the project process to include:
- Detailed discovery with staff that expands upon existing materials outlining organizational CRM needs
- Design of a Salesforce instance that meets CDWC’s needs and replaces current spreadsheets, form tools, and related data analysis tools
- Implementation of the designed Salesforce instance
- Facilitation of decision-making around data migration (e.g., what should be migrated using import tools vs manually entered vs left behind) and support subsequent planning (any data migration will be contracted separately after decisions are made)
- Staff training
- Initial system documentation
BASIC SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
- High priority/first phase: Programs (surveys/aggregate data): Ingest data from partner organizations via a variety of survey forms and less formal collection methods and facilitate required data analysis
- High priority/first phase: Partner organization portal for submission of information and viewing analytics and other information; the portal must have an effective interface in both English and Spanish
- Medium priority/first phase: Organization-wide: Track individual and organizational contacts and key information about them and their participation in various activities and groups
- Medium priority/could be a little later: Programs (organizations and people): Maintain membership directories, track legislative advocacy work, track inquiries from and lightweight support given to individuals, track event registrations and attendance
- Low priority/can be later: Development: Track individual donors and fundraising efforts; track grant application and reporting deadlines and assets
- Low priority: Communications: Target, send, and track performance of outreach and advocacy emails to Salesforce contacts (currently done in ActionNetwork)
- These priorities are subject to change depending on campaign activities*
