Business Systems Analyst

Summary

 

The Business Systems Analyst delivers technology planning, data management, analysis, and testing for PetSmart Charities’ business enabling systems. This role delivers projects that are on time, fully tested, and that meet the objectives of the business. This role serves as a Super User/Admin and supports moderate to complex systems with a focus on our Grant Management System (SmartSimple), to a lesser degree on CRM (Salesforce) & donations management, and their related business processes. This position has a significant impact in all areas of the organization and ensures that mission-critical systems and applications are provided in a timely and efficient manner. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a matrix environment while managing systems and providing critical insights.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure business needs are met by aligning systems technology to the overall business strategy.
  • Responsible for maintaining systems configuration and administration.
  • Collaborate with leadership and peers to support effective functionality around customer relationships and grant management.
  • Lead the identification of risks/opportunities and communicate in a timely manner to the business, recommending strategies to achieve key goals and metrics.
  • Integrate all processes and systems to fully optimize customer experience as well as grant management activities.
  • Execute data analysis to identify and communicate opportunities for the organization and provide recommendations to working teams/leadership.
  • Responsible for leading the functional and technical training to support utilization of the system and adherence to defined business processes.
  • Manage contractors and/or consultants as applicable to ensure project outcomes are met. 

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, IT, computer science, or related field required with 2-5+ years related experience and/or training in business systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in user training and facilitation of key business processes.

 Relevant Skills

  • Advanced computer software application skills (e.g. MS Office, ERP Systems).
  • Experience with SmartSimple or other nonprofit grant management systems is highly desired.
  • SQL experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional project management experience.
  • Must demonstrate business acumen.
  • Must possess excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Must possess outstanding organizational skills, including attention to detail.
  • Must demonstrate ability to build partnerships/relationships with internal and external partners, leveraging interpersonal skills to build trust.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of intellectual, professional, and interpersonal ability and flexibility.
