Aki Shibuya

Aki Shibuya is a nonprofit and philanthropy technology leader based in Seattle, WA. Throughout her career, she has managed operations, technology projects and teams, membership programs, and communications at various sized social impact organizations. She also taught English at Payap University in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and at one point in life, ran one of the largest Crocodile Hunter fansites on the Internet (Simply Croc Hunter). Aki is a 2021 Emerging Leader with the U.S.-Japan Council, and currently advises on the program as a member of the ELP Alumni Steering Committee. Aki holds a BA with Honors in History from Grinnell College and an MA with Distinction in South East Asian Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. She also is a graduate of and instructor in the Master of Science in Information Management program at the University of Washington.
