The Center for Digital Equity

Pronouns: She/Her

I am the Deputy Director at the Center for Digital Equity, Queens University of Charlotte. In this role I lead the planning and execution of the Community Council's co-created goals. I also provide oversight for the operations of the CDE including the Digital Navigator service.   Most recently I served as the Sr. Business Manager for Mecklenburg County where I led a finance business strategy team focusing on implementing communications and data initiatives which moved forward many of the organizations’ strategic business plan objectives. One of these objectives, a data analytics project, won a National Association of Counties Award and led me to host a breakout session at the UNCC 2021 Women in Data Science virtual conference.   I am an avid supporter of community driven upward mobility and often volunteer in efforts that move diversity and equity forward. I have volunteered with the Salvation Army Advisory Board, Abused Women and Children Next Generation Committee, the International Walk to School Campaign, and I am currently an active board member of the Women in Agile non-profit organization. I am recognized by the SCRUM Alliance as a Certified Agile Leader and look forward to merging those principles with digital equity work through this fellowship.   As a native of Colombia, South America, I am fluent in Spanish and understand the intersectionality of literacy and its impact to immigrants like myself.
