We are relentlessly committed to ensuring our users encounter digital experiences that are relevant, personalized, and impactful. We are flexible in our roles and have a team-player approach. We serve the entire organization and work on projects ranging from marketing landing pages to custom fundraising solutions to innovative products for educators.

Our team is responsible for the stability and availability of all of our digital platforms, to ensure the best experiences. We govern all processes and procedures which deliver change to those tools and applications, with a view to minimizing incidents and risk while operating efficiently and responsively.

Our work is cross-functional in order to serve critical mission-driven needs. Our team prides itself in deeply understanding and caring about our users and our mission. We commit to both when we build and maintain technology solutions. Our digital properties exist across a range of technologies, including Drupal 9, Salesforce, Hubspot, and Canvas LMS to support our user-facing digital product and experiences, including resources, community, and professional learning events.

Who You Are: You are a thoughtful, highly organized, mission-driven individual who understands the power of thoughtfully implemented and managed technology. You have experience tackling complex problems. You regularly communicate with stakeholders to understand their needs, hopes, and fears, synthesize those needs into a coherent, evolving product roadmap, and work with internal and external experts to deliver solutions to meet those needs. You take an empathetic, inclusive, relationships-driven, communication approach when working with colleagues to ensure their ever-improving use of and satisfaction with our digital experience platform and connected tools.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Own and manage the improvement and maintenance of our portfolio of platforms, applications, and integrations that support event production and management, including Blackthorn Events (Salesforce), FormAssembly (Salesforce), Canvas LMS, ON24 Events, alongside Single Sign-On (SSO), and Zapier integrations.
  • Aminstrating, building, customizing, and providing peer review and oversight for events.
  • Prioritize high-value fixes and improvements, and improve overall function.
  • Support internal and external users to learn and use platforms and applications effectively by developing training, on-demand and live, and maintaining documentation.
  • Engage in strategic thinking and planning about processes, vision, and improvements.
  • Seek out and gather feedback related to the event production and management experience; understand the evolving needs of the organization, and synthesize these needs into a well-managed product roadmap.
  • Experience facilitating interactive sessions to gather requirements and feedback with audiences of varying technical knowledge.
  • Engage in consistent communication with staff and executive leaders to understand priorities and roll out decision points and change milestones.
  • Engage external experts and actively manage relationships to maintain a healthy, productive functional improvement cycle.
  • Partner with finance to ensure payment gateways and options are configured correctly, streamlined, and maintained over time.
  • Partner with the Data Management team to execute under-the-hood configurations in Salesforce, such as configuration, workflow automation, technical adjustments, and other improvements.
  • Partner with Information Technology and Data Management teams, formalizing our team’s platform research, procurement, implementation, and maintenance processes.
  • Support platform operations and delivery models by defining goals, key performance indicators, roles and responsibilities, and service level agreements.
  • Partner with the Product and Experience Design team to conduct A/B testing to optimize our technology solutions.
  • Carry out and oversee quality assurance testing.
  • Manage or execute research on third-party integrated tools and develop relevant expertise to maintain them.

This position may be a great fit for you if:

  • You love working with platforms and applications, like Salesforce and Blackthorn Events, and Zoom Webinar and you understand their capabilities.
  • You are a skilled communicator and relationship builder.
  • You are energized by regularly engaging with people to gather context and understanding, as much as you are energized by spending time working on technical customizations and configurations.
  • You are naturally oriented toward the relentless pursuit of making your coworkers’ lives easier.
  • You care deeply about the experiences of internal and external end users — committed to crafting best-in-class and thoughtful digital experiences.

It may not be a great fit for you if:

  • You want to spend your time making customizations to platforms and would rather people just submit tickets.
  • You feel drained by engaging with people directly on a regular basis.
  • You dread the idea of frequently offering direct user support and training.
  • You aren’t energized by collaboratively developing thoughtful and creative solutions to complex problems.

Essential Skills and Qualities:

We take an equitable and holistic screening approach. If you feel you have demonstrated experience and expertise relevant to perform this role, please don’t hesitate to apply!

  • Consistent desire to solve problems and make the lives of fellow team members easier.
  • Ability to identify and implement process and policy improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt quickly to a constantly changing landscape.

  • Ability to facilitate technical training with audiences.
  • Comfort working in a remote, collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work well with others and within diverse groups.
  • Focus on making it work and be open-minded, willing to look at problems from multiple perspectives, with an appetite and patience for getting it right, iterating on systems and processes, and continuously improving.
