ABOUT THE DIRECTOR OF DATA STRATEGY



As the Director of Data Strategy, you will shape the next phase of Basta’s data strategy while also getting hands-on with data architecture, modeling, and key analysis. This role will partner with and support service delivery and business teams to identify and address high-impact operational and strategic goals through the development and maintenance of data and technology infrastructure, products, tools, and processes that enable robust, data-driven approaches to delivering, evaluating, and communicating progress toward our mission. You’ll use your expertise in data architecture &amp; engineering to streamline and/or upgrade Basta’s core database to ensure reliable data pipelines to power everything from day-to-day work to long-term goal setting and monitoring. You’ll manage a small but growing team to increase staff access to easy-to-understand analytics and visualizations and build our capacity to effectively tell stories with data. Your work will help ensure that every team member across the organization has the infrastructure &amp; support they need to use data effectively, and you’ll hold us accountable to do so. 



In this role you will:&nbsp;

<li>Oversee Organizational Health and Goal Progress Monitoring: Refine and execute our annual OKR setting and monitoring process ensuring that everyone at Basta is aware of progress to goals and we remain agile in our approach to successfully meeting them. Design an organization health monitoring system and socialize with all relevant colleagues.&nbsp;</li>



<li>Own Basta’s Data Infrastructure: You will thoroughly audit Basta’s current use of an Airtable database for data collection, storage, and management. You’ll assess the extent to which the platform can support our ongoing needs, recommend short- and long-term options (continuing to develop Airtable, building a custom SQL database, etc.), and implement the chosen solution.</li>



<li>Develop Basta’s Data Strategy: With a deep understanding of Basta’s organizational goals and current practices, you’ll define a strategy and create a roadmap for getting the most value out of Basta’s data for each of our major partner types, based both on Basta’s current needs and goals and our vision for the future. Your work will play a foundational role during Basta’s next stage of growth.</li>



<li>Standardize &amp; Refine Data Collection: Build streamlined data collection systems, create accessible documentation, and train Basta staff on how to use them. Experience with relational databases and data structures is important.</li>



<li>Data Communication &amp; Storytelling: Part of your job will be to make the data Basta has collected useful to internal Basta teams and partners, from both a progress monitoring and story-telling perspective. The majority of Basta staff and the partners we work with will be non-technical, so a deep understanding of how to summarize and communicate data in an impactful way is necessary.</li>

Reporting to the Associate Director of Communications, the Content Lead is responsible for overseeing all website content and a broad range of communications assets, to achieve fundraising, advocacy, and brand visibility goals. Position Summary



Just Vision is seeking a full-time Development Operations Manager (DOM). As our team prepares for the work ahead, this role is essential in helping Just Vision build the financial resources to sustain and grow our efforts and nurture a loyal and widening community of partners and supporters.



The Development Operations Manager will play a key role in strengthening and maintaining our fundraising systems and data using Salesforce and other platforms, coordinating annual mailings, and ensuring timely updates and acknowledgments are sent to donors and/or prospective supporters. The DOM will also manage special virtual and in-person events in relationship to our supporter community and support Just Vision’s development team in key aspects of our donor program, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors.

Required Experience and Skills

Summary of position



As the Senior Salesforce Administrator (SFA) at the FSHD Society, you will be pivotal in advancing our mission and anchoring our growth strategy. As the Digital Campaign Action Specialist, known internally as the Global Campaign Mobilization Specialist, you play an integral role in supporting global and regional campaigns through the management of the action app, a web-based application which enables supporters to take digital campaign actions. You will work closely with the Global Campaigns team to set up impactful actions that contribute to campaign victories, and you will develop and carry out a plan for mobilizing supporters around the world, including regional segmentation and supporter-building initiatives. The Research &amp; Data Analyst will report to the Director of Research &amp; Data Analysis and collaborate with a team engaged in innovative research designed to reveal racial inequities and shift narratives of power. The analyst will focus on providing relevant, rigorous, and actionable data for campaign development, policy formation, and initiative building. The position will highlight issues most impacted by systemic racial injustices within our primary program areas as well as strategic initiatives. Position Summary
The Director of Strategic Communications will lead our Communications Team and report to a Vice President of Policy and Programs.&nbsp;They will be responsible for developing and executing communications strategies that advance Catalyst California’s critical work across several issues such as political participation and democracy, equitable budgets, criminal justice, and educational equity, as well as shaping relevant and timely organization-wide narrative frameworks.&nbsp;They will also lead a new organization-wide initiative to improve and expand our strategic communications work (the elements of this initiative are included in the list of responsibilities below).

Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Salary

Director of Strategic Communications

The Communications Director is part of a collaborative and diverse <a style="background-color: transparent;" href="https://www.nten.org/about-nten/our-team" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">NTEN team</a>. The Communications Director is the lead project manager and strategic leader across all organizational content and communications, including publications, marketing, and website content, prioritizing accessibility and reliability across our systems and content. The Communications Director position includes technical duties of editing the website and designing email marketing messages, project managing partners and contractors for publications and other deliverables, and engagement strategy duties like planning and implementing content across channels. Domestic travel and extended hours will be required one week per year for the Nonprofit Technology Conference and may be required for other in-person events up to three times per year, depending upon the program. This is a full-time (32 hours a week) position with a yearly starting salary of $65,000. 
NTEN operates on a four-day week, with all staff working Monday–Thursday only.

The Director of Digital Strategy is a hands-on technical role with primary responsibility for the development, progressive enhancement, and management of all of the Lupus Foundation of America’s (LFA) public-facing websites, social media channels, email platforms, and ad campaigns, as well as the statistics, data management, and reporting of the content on those channels. The Director is responsible for managing digital platforms that include our Content Management System (CMS), email platform, and digital editorial calendar and overseeing our Social Media and Digital Communications Specialist who handles our social media. The Director of Digital Strategy regularly works with vendors and contractors to manage website development, advertising campaigns, and email campaigns and provides training and documentation to internal and regional staff on using the CMS and other internal editorial processes.&nbsp;&nbsp;



The Director, supported by the Social Media and Digital Communications Specialist position, oversees the social media strategy and digital content calendar and conceives and executes digital engagement strategies via email, SEO, organic social media, and paid digital advertising. ABOUT THE POSITION



The Vice President, Finance and Administration (VPFA) is responsible for aligning finance and administrative functions to program strategy and strengthening internal operations so that the Foundation has the internal infrastructure and culture in place to achieve its goals. The VPFA reports to the President and is equal parts strategist and operator, helping the programmatic vision come to life through sound internal systems and practices. Serving as a strategic thought partner to the President, the Board, and staff across the organization, the VPFA will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. The VPFA will provide leadership beyond the Foundation’s finances to include overall organizational operations, design, risk management, and effectiveness as well as board management, learning, and efficacy. The VPFA will proactively design internal operations that are aligned with and in support of the Foundation’s programmatic strategies, creating an impact on the external work. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Strategy and Leadership



<ul>
<li>As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the VPFA helps shape organizational strategy and policy.</li>



<li>Develops and implements strategies to optimize the Foundation’s finances and operations in service of its mission and goal, including partnering closely with the Strategy, Partnership, and Learning (SPL) team to ensure that financial and operational systems support programmatic goals.</li>



<li>Serves as a creative financial thought partner to the SPL team on funding models for grantee partners, contract design, and more in support of programmatic strategies.</li>



<li>Supports the President with managing the Board of Directors, including developing short- and long-term meeting objectives; quarterly docket planning; developing meeting content with input from the President and all departments; supporting meeting minutes; managing items that require follow-up; and continually revising and updating the Board communication plan, according to Board and organizational needs.</li>



<li>Develops and maintains a Board Handbook and works with the President to ensure the board members are trained and up-to-date on their legal responsibilities.</li>



<li>Serves as the point person to the Board on financial, investment, and operational matters, presenting at Board meetings; serving on the Investment, Finance, and Audit Committees; responding to related Board inquiries; and identifying and supporting related learning and development needs.</li>
</ul>



Organizational Effectiveness and Team Building



<ul>
<li>In partnership with the President and Vice President, SPL, leads workforce planning and design, ensuring capacity is aligned with strategy and goals.</li>



<li>Fosters a workplace culture that allows a talented and diverse group of employees to feel valued and engaged which includes supporting the design and execution of staff meetings and events that cultivate positive culture and other organizational activities aimed at enhancing a culture of trust, collaboration, and belonging.</li>



<li>Oversees all-staff and Senior Leadership Team meetings, including agendas and facilitation.</li>



<li>In close partnership with the Director of Operations and Technology, designs and implements internal organizational policies and procedures across finance, accounting, human resources, and operations ensuring they are equitable, inclusive, and aligned with the values and mission of the Foundation.</li>



<li>Ensures there is communication and transparency across all departments on organizational decisions and processes.</li>



<li>Works in partnership with outside HR consultants to design and oversee values-aligned processes and approaches to performance management, professional development, and employee relations.</li>



<li>Supports the Director of Operations and Technology in the development and execution of hiring, onboarding, and training practices to ensure they are thorough, welcoming, and inclusive.</li>



<li>Leads annual compensation and performance review processes with support from HR consultants, as needed.</li>
</ul>



Finance and Investment Management



<ul>
<li>Oversees the finance functions of the Foundation – inclusive of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and investments – with strategy, integrity, and accountability.</li>



<li>Directly supervises the Controller and a Senior Accountant who are responsible for day-to-day accounting and finance activities, including tax reporting and the annual financial audit process.</li>



<li>Reviews and approves all internal financial reporting materials and routinely communicates short- and long-term financial information to the President and the Board, providing insight and recommendations on financial decisions.</li>



<li>Oversees the budget development and monitoring process, in partnership with the President and the SPL team to ensure budgets and forecasts are aligned with the strategic programmatic goals.</li>



<li>Oversees the investment assets of the Foundation, in partnership with/overseeing the external investment advisor, and is responsible for Investment Committee meetings.</li>



<li>Ensures the investment portfolio supports the mission and trajectory of the Foundation, recognizing any potential investments that run counter to the Foundation’s programmatic strategies.</li>



<li>Manages cash flow and forecasting, in partnership with external investment advisors, ensuring there is sufficient liquidity to meet the operational needs of the Foundation.</li>
</ul>



Office Management



<ul>
<li>Directly supervises the Office Coordinator who is responsible for the day-to-day office management, facilities, and internal meeting support.</li>



<li>Manages the current San Francisco office lease serving as the landlord’s main contact.</li>



<li>Leads strategic deliberation, decision-making, and implementation related to the future of the Foundation’s office space and work culture given the upcoming lease termination in October of 2026.</li>
</ul>



Legal-Risk Management



<ul>
<li>Works cross-functionally with the SPL, grants management and operations, and finance teams to ensure the Foundation operates within all legal requirements and to best practice standards.</li>



<li>Keeps abreast of laws and regulations relevant to private foundations to ensure regulatory compliance and timely filing of required reports.</li>



<li>Serves as a resource to senior leadership for problem-solving related to legal compliance on all operational activities and works with outside counsel to resolve more complex issues or questions that arise.</li>



<li>Responsible for maintaining and updating organizational corporate documents and board-adopted policies (Bylaws, Spending Authorization Policy, Conflicts of Interest Policy, etc).</li>



<li>Ensures the Foundation is adequately insured to safeguard the investment assets of the Foundation, staff, and board members.</li>
</ul>



KEY QUALIFICATIONS



The ideal VPFA will bring many of the following experiences, characteristics, and abilities – among other related/transferable skills – to the Foundation:

<li>Commitment to the mission and values with a passion for transforming life outcomes for young people; lived or professional experience related to the Foundation’s work is a plus.</li>



<li>Progressively responsible senior leadership experience in financial and administrative organizational leadership ideally inclusive of overseeing finance, operations, human resources, and/or legal/risk management functions.</li>



<li>Experience leading budgeting, financial forecasting, and reporting along with a record of success implementing strategic goals and priorities across an organization.</li>



<li>Demonstrated experience managing high-performing teams and supporting healthy organizational culture, smooth operations, and complex budgets with competence and ease.</li>



<li>A connector who builds strong, trust-based relationships with others and demonstrates a high degree of emotional intelligence, accountability, and discretion in handling sensitive personnel or other matters.</li>



<li>Experience and comfort in building relationships with, presenting to, and helping to develop and support the efficacy and development of a Board of Directors.</li>



<li>Working knowledge of philanthropy, or nonprofit management, is strongly preferred, including knowledge of related best practices in the field.</li>

COMPENSATION &amp; BENEFITS



The Stuart Foundation provides a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefit package. The annual salary range for Vice President, Finance and Administration is $260,000 to $312,000 with an anticipated starting salary of $290,000, commensurate with experience. This position will directly impact many thousands of learners in schools across our country and play a pivotal role in shaping and achieving our organizational strategy.&nbsp;As the leader of our engineering team, you’ll partner with the vice president of products to ensure our products meet customer needs and can scale as we achieve our growth goals.&nbsp;You will mentor and coach our in-house engineering team and manage our external contractors.&nbsp;You will provide technical strategic leadership to the organization and get your hands dirty in our codebase.



Specifically, in this job, you will:
