Flickr: Cambodia4Kidsorg(Note: This is a weekly round-up of NTEN members doing and sharing their nptech awesome. Members are in bold. Tag your own news with "nten member" or "nptech" to help us find your awesome online, or contact Annaliese with your updates.)
Keith Berner and the folks behind Crisis Commons have invited all you techies-for-good to an event in DC (and elsewhere) tomorrow. There are also projects you can participate in online, to put your nptech skills to work for earthquake-devastated Haiti.
Allyson Kapin writes up an article for the Care2 blog about the impact of mobile fundraising for the Red Cross (txt "Haiti" to 90999 to send $10!) and provides important information you should know if you're considering using mobile fundraising for your organization.
Aspiration's new online resource (can we call it "beta?") Answr.net aggregates resources in nonprofit technology topics. It's current platform focuses on email issues.
Well, we've been saying it for years, but Beth Kanter is officially a Woman Who Rocks Social Media: see the Top 25 list from Top Rank Marketing. (I'm holding my tongue on the gender-specific issue here). Congrats, Beth! (And hat tip to Mark Gillingham for the heads up.)
Mobile Citizen is providing low-cost broadband plus NTEN membership to Philadelphia nonprofits through the Technology Assistance Grant program. Deadline to apply is Feb 19.
NetSquared (a project of TechSoup), NTEN, and Beth Kanter (and SxSWi!) want to hear about how you've leveraged social media for your organization's PROGRAM work: advocacy, education, or delivering your mission. Learn more and submit your case studies here, and 3 will be chosen for inclusion in Beth Kanter's presentation at SxSWi.
Thanks, Wild Apricot, for the tip about free tools for creating and working with PDF's in a collaborative way! And if you like the nifty graphic in the post that Rebecca Leaman used, she also shares the tip about the free online tool to make flow charts and wire frames.
