C4all If you are a CTC, you should know about the CTCNet program, Connections For All. They are sponsoring a number of Accessibility Institutes around the country for CTCs to learn how to make their centers and program accessible for people with a broad range of abilities. Good work for a good cause.

Since launching an online communications strategy in April, the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN) has raised $63,000 in online donations. Much of this success comes from growing our email list from 3,000 to 23,000 people over the past seven months. Online donations of major gifts this year show more individuals giving "large" ($1,000 or more) gifts. We've also seen a big increase in our $1,000+ (Patriot Circle) gifts, receiving

There are an estimated 1 million homeless youth in the United States - thousands of them living in abandoned buildings, inside dumpsters, in parks and alleyways, trying to survive on the streets. Since 1998, Covenant House California (CHC) has been serving homeless and at-risk youth ages 13 to 24 in the Bay Area.

We launched online messaging, advocacy, fundraising, events, and community-building tools in June 2006, and

With the busiest fundraising month quickly approaching, I remember spending last December glued to my computer during the last four days in December, constantly refreshing our donation report pages. We were concerned that Katrina-related donations might diminish December fundraising. The response to Katrina had been phenomenal: $230,000 in online donations in September alone. But December 2005 remained strong. In fact, PPFA saw an 18%

Sound Off On Nonprofits' Use of Fundraising Technology

Enews_thumb_schindlinger_1 Dottie Schindlinger, Verve Internet Solutions
"Given that the vast majority of nonprofits are very small organizations with few (if any) staff members, all nonprofits can reap great rewards by investing in technology. For example, online hosted solutions can allow groups of volunteers to manage processes in a decentralized, organized way. Fundraising campaigns can be run less expensively and have greater reach. The problem is that, historically, few funders have been willing to invest in nonprofit infrastructures and

Sound Off On the State of E-Fundraising

Enews_thumbnail_zumach Tanya Zumach, Metropolitan Group

"I think [online fundraising is] definitely coming into its maturity. Organizations aren't asking "should we have a website and accept donations online" but how best to do it. And those who started a long time ago are really maximizing it. There are now many low-cost tools available for even the smallest organizations to equip their sites to take online donations.

Of course, fundraising is about trust and relationships. So even the most amazing

Sound Off On the Hottest Fundraising Technologies

Submitted by Bonnie on Tue, 11/21/2006 - 5:33am.

Enews_thumb_hoffman_2 Michael Hoffman, See3
"By far the hottest technology for e-fundraising is online video. Hotter than blogs or RSS or social networking. The web has exploded in video as the infrastructures of the web and TV are coming together. Nonprofits that don't jump into this arena risk being drowned out by the media culture that surrounds them. We should be witnessing a dramatic up-tick in media production by nonprofits and a resource shift from print materials. Those beautiful annual reports spend about
