You've been asking about recordings of NTC sessions. Now, we finally have some! You can thank Corey Pudhorodsky, of 501c3cast, for his work in creating podcasts of the following popular NTC sessions:
- Website Usability: Simple Steps for Making Your Site Perform Better, Mark Rovner, Sea Change Strategies
- Intro to Google AdWords, Frederick Vallaeys, Google
501c3cast is a podcast for the nonprofit sector. You can check out some of their other shows and resources here.
You are a media mogul...and you didn't even know it!
SplashCast LogoThe folks at SplasCast Media have released a new feature today - MyPodcastNetwork. It's a nice little widget that allows you to aggregate feeds from all the podcasts you like, and make them available in one place. Marshall Kirkpatrick, who's been a fantastic NTEN community member created the very first Network on the service, and it's full of nptech content. Thanks Marshall! You can check out the announcement yourself, and see how it works here:
PODCAST: The Great Open API Debate
NTEN hosted a debate on the timely issue of open APIs and what they mean for nonprofit organizations. Some of the main vendors providing CRM services to nonprofits took part in the discussion and revealed their thoughts on open APIs, the direction their companies are moving, and what nonprofits stand to gain from this.
PODCAST: The Philadelphia Municipal Wireless Project
In the inaugural NTEN podcast, NTEN's Holly Ross interviewed Greg Goldman of Wireless Philadelphia and Karen Archer Perry of Karacomm on their experiences in Philadelphia and their thoughts on wireless' potential.
The People's Emergency Center is already testing out how internet access can help the people it serves in Philadelphia. Karen said:
It started out as an organization supporting abused and battered families and in general people who are in great need of help. They added to that the ability to learn about a computer... What they found was that people used it for all the things you'd expect. They used it to find better jobs, to take online courses. Kids used it and they improved their grades.
