Job Details

GISCorps is looking for an experienced instructor to teach two back to back week-long GIS courses in Kabul, Afghanistan. The volunteer must be able to travel to Kabul between May 7th and June 1st and for two weeks. This project is in partnership with the Engineers Without Borders (http://www.ewb-usa.org/) and funded by USAID. The volunteer will be teaching a beginning and advanced GIS course to the faculty of Kabul Polytechnic University (KPU).

Additional information/qualifications:

  • Highly proficient in teaching fundamental principals of GIS (theoretical and hands-on)
  • Highly experienced in using ArcGIS 9.2 and its extensions especially the 3-D extension
  • Familiarity with ArcView 3.2 is highly desirable
  • Round trip airfare, accommodations, transportation, meals, insurance: All provided by EWB/USAID
