Finally, a Google Maps Tool for the Masses

Maps are such an effective storytelling device. I, for instance, am obsessed with the map at the front of my Lord of the Rings trilogy. Locating something in a physical space (even if it IS an imaginary physical space) makes stuff real for people, and more nonprofits (including NTEN!) should be using maps to tell their story.

Luckily, it just got a little easier.

Our friend Marshall Kirkpatrick at TechCrunch has another piece today that's very applicable to the nonprofit sector. He highlights Blipstar. According to Marshall, it's the Holy Trinity of web applications: cheap, easy and reliable. If you organize dine-outs in your city, have multiple clinics, want to show where the city has failed to address infrastructure concerns like potholes, etc., then Blipstar looks like a great service.

Oh - and don't forget to check out Marshall's upcoming NTEN webinar: Tag, That's It! Aggregating information to better serve your stakeholders.
