Class Overview
Fish Food? Well, ok maybe not fish food, but how about food for thought. You have been asking, no make that begging for Antharia to shorten and put a number of our key classes online. Well ask and ye' shall receive! Antharia's new FISH FOOD series of classes are just the facts, a quick hit overview of just what the computer ordered.
In this 120 minute action packed class, you will observe and interact with your instructor as they bob and weave through a solid understanding of PHP. Each power packed lesson is taken from a real world implementation.
Prerequisites
Basic HTML knowledge recommended, but not required. In that this is an online class, a computer and high speed internet connection are required. Students will be provided a toll free conference call in line for the audio portion of this class. In that online classes can be fast-paced, it is also recommended that you be at ease on your computer and the web. No specific software is required, you can actually write PHP in notepad! If you want to write and test any scripts you will however, need access to a web server.
Materials
Class includes course workbook (via PDF), access to Antharia University's Wiki (online community and exchange), and students will also have 90 days of access to their instructor (via email) for questions and answers.

Objectives
Students in this class will take away the following key elements:
1. Students will learn about basic PHP syntax and how to embed PHP in their web pages.
2. Students will learn how to make their web pages interact in simple ways with users, using form fields and query string variables.
3. Students will learn how to send email from PHP, allowing them to customize their email forms, protect their addresses from spammers, and provide a more professional, customizable interface than a typical HTML-based email form.
