NTEN Community Call: Broadband Access
At NTEN, we have many issues that we care about. We think you should
care about them too. And we happen to think that we should talk about
them more. So we're hosting a monthly community call to talk about
these issues with the folks who are in the trenches working on them so
that we all might be better informed.
On August 26, we'll be
talking and chatting about Broadband Access. High-speed or broadband
Internet access is quickly joining the ranks of basic public needs. We
increasingly rely on the Internet, but what about those who don't have
fast, affordable access to the interwebs? As a nonprofit, how are you
working to make sure that the clients you serve have access?
The folks over at Free Press have been doing some fabulous advocacy work
around universal broadband access. Misty Perez Truedson, Campaign Coordinator at Free Press will join us along with Sheldon
Mains, NTEN Member and Internet Advocate, for a community discusssion
on the state of the national broadband plan, the essential issue of net
neutrality and how we, as nonprofits, can shape the future of the
Internet.
This community call/online chat is FREE for NTEN Members and we encourage you to come prepared to share your thoughts and ideas around broadband access.
