NTEN Member Buzz Round-Up: June 12th
Flickr: daveiamI've got lots of goods this week, so without further ado, let's get to the members-online round-up:
Beth Kanter raffled off a complimentary NTEN membership, courtesy of thePort. Let's all welcome the Surfrider Foundation as a new organizational member!
Our pals (and members) Network for Good and Kivi Leroux Miller combined to provide a free Nonprofit Email Marketing Guide.
M+R put together a handy guide to Twitter that both newbies and twits (ie, Twitter experts) can put to good use for nonprofit organizational applications.
Michelle Murrain compartmentalized her social networking life -- and learned a thing or two that might apply for individuals and orgs. Other NTEN members joined the discussion on her blog, including Beth Kanter and Peter Campbell.
Amy Sample Ward always has lots of updates from the social media and advocacy fronts, but she's also kind enough to round-up some information in posts like this. It also happens to include an update on fellow NTEN member GlobalGiving's America Open Challenge -- which you should definitely check out.
This seems to be coming up a lot lately: Sam Chenkin, of NPower Pennsylvania, discussed the "holistic approach to technology". I think this is a good companion discussion to Holly Ross's question about the role of the CIO.
There are a lot of NTEN members out there (almost 7,000 of you!), so I'm sure I've missed a lot of online activity. If you're curious how I find these updates, here's the skinny:
- Google Alert for online items tagged with "nptech" or "nten"
- Stuff that comes up within the NTEN online community (like on Twitter, NTEN Affinity Groups, NTEN Members Group on LinkedIn)
- Heads-up from the community with links to online announcements or projects
