lolnptechHere's this week's installment of the online news and contributions from and about NTEN members.
First up, some contributions to nonprofit technology tips, how-tos, and insights:
- NTEN member Convio reminds us of the wonderful communications tool that is email on their Connection Cafe blog, and provides us with top tips for email design that works across all email clients.
- Members Rick Christ, Donordigital, and our very own Holly Ross are cited in this article by the Nonprofit Times about the correlation between direct mail and your website traffic.
- Kivi Leroux Miller is going on vacation, but she was nice enough to leave a post with food for thought about nonprofit marketing and communications for her readers, including reference to fellow members Nancy Schwartz, Network For Good, Katya Andresen, and Jonathon Colman
- Johanna Bates and Michaela Hackner discuss the effect of Twitter's character limit on their absorption of information -- as in, it helps to filter/boil down information to what's essential.
New partnerships and mergers among NTEN members include:
- Suzanne Merriman announced that her company, JMT Consulting, an organizational member of NTEN, is buying another organizational member, NFP Consultants.
- Oddly enough, NFP Consultants also recently announced a new partnership with yet another fellow NTEN member, Acteva.
New developments:
- Jonathon Colman is the "Featured Changemaker" on Change.org. Of course he is. Congratulations!
- Mission Research released a new version of GiftWorks, another fundraising software solution for nonprofit organizations. Don't forget that Mission Research is sharing the love with their fellow NTEN members by offering a discount on their software!
- Families USA launched a new site, Stand Up For Health Care, to make it easier for the public to stay informed, connected, and take action on health care issues.
What did I miss? a lot, I'm sure, since NTEN membership is expanding daily, and NTEN members generally rock. Feel free to give me your heads-up -- annaliese(AT)nten(DOT)org -- when you or your organization is in the news.
And if these weekly round-ups just aren't enough to keep you connected to the news and thoughts of your peers in nonprofit technology, don't forget you can connect daily in our online community.
