Flickr Photo: lnkyhackFlickr Photo: lnkyhackI would be writing this post from a solar powered MacBook but alas, we haven't seen the sun in a week here in Portland. Though Spring is not cooperating with my gardening and hiking plans, we here at NTEN would still like us all to take a break from our keyboards and monitors and remember that in our tech-obsessed world, there are some easy ways to give Mother Nature a break.

Here are a few of our favorite sites and ideas. Share yours by adding a comment below!

  • Poke, Bite, and Save the Planet. Looks like you can do just about anything on FaceBook! Check out the Zero Footprint Calculator or start an enviro friendly Care2 Petition. If you're into gardening, you'll love Lil Green Patch too.
  • Bring out your competitive side. The Minnesota Energy Challenge site won a Dot Org award at the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits Technology Conference this year. Who knew Midwesters were so competitive?
  • Put your Money Where your Mouse Is. Google Checkout has a nice little Earth Day campaign running that lets you see the net effect of your donations.
  • Go Carbon Neutral. Environeutral lets you calculate your organization's carbon footprint, then buy carbon credits to offset it.
  • Green Your Gadgets. The folks at TreeHugger.com have some great tips and products.
