WYSIWYG
Ignored by most, but needed 24/7
Hell on Earth, but they always go to Heaven.
Never loved or coddled, unlike a household pet
But just like computers, what you see is what you get.

Techies Work For No Money: An Apology From a Non-Techie
I'm a grants manager and I can safely say
That there will never come a day
When my friends, while I'm trying to get some rest,
Suddenly put me to the test
And ask for advice on making grants
Thus making me want to kick them in the pants.
Yet, my best friend, the techie, runs from one house to another
Fixing computers for friends, family and, of course, his mother.
I try to be grateful, really I do
But somehow I'm always whining (admit it... we all do)
"My computer's not fast enough; my printer is stuck"
It's a wonder he doesn't tell us all to take a great big flying... !!
Happy Love Your Techie Day to all techies everywhere, especially my long-suffering, eternally patient, brilliant best friend (who has yet to make my laptop wireless...hint hint...)

It's great to know a Geek
It's Great to know a Geek named Trish
She always knows the latest Geek Tech Dish
She's never caught sleeping while doing her work
Unlike so many Tech Geek Jerks
She always has the latest Info
More efficient that a DJ who spins Disco
It's Great to know Trish the Geek
Happy Valentine's Day I will repeat, repeat, repeat

How I love thee...
Oh how I love thee, not just cause your I.T.
and fix my PC, or talk in pure binary
it's 'cause you're there for me, and make me happy when...
you DO fix my pc, and speed up my D.B.
or when I feel chatty
I guess I do love thee 'cause your I.T.

Techie Love
At the Institute
Learning, growing, finding self.
Our parallel paths
Come closer together
Until our worldlines intersect
Entangling our voyages of discovery.
Idealists we, working together,
Discovering love of Service.
Discovering each other.
Leader, healer, pilot.
Organizer, counselor, navigator.
We didn't do half bad together.
Separated by states and continent
Long distance comm kept us close
But our loving words got lost in the void.
How much has changed.
Memories that faded so fast,
Can now be made to last.
Written, written so easily,
Passing into silicon reality,
Transformed, transfered, to energy.
