If you're a 501c3 nonprofit organization in the New York City area, then accolades and a scholarship could be coming your way!

The New York Times Community Affairs Department, the Nonprofit Coordinating Committee of New York, and the New York Regional Association of Grantmakers are inviting local nonprofits to apply for the 2007 New York Times Company Nonprofit Excellence Awards.

According to their announcement, "These Awards recognize the important roles played by nonprofit organizations in improving lives and communities, and will celebrate your creativity and management skill in achieving your missions.

"Winners will be honored at a special Awards Presentation in June, 2007, with cash awards, a scholarship for the Institute for Not-for-Profit Management at Columbia Business School Executive Education, and a chance to showcase excellent management strategies in a Best Practices Workshop."
