Submitted by Bonnie on Wed, 09/13/2006 - 2:55am.

Idealware_logo NTEN has teamed up with Idealware to offer a series of webinars that will help nonprofits make better software choices. These online seminars will provide detailed product comparisons and analyses and will give you the knowledge you need to buy the best software for your organization.

The first webinar in this series is Choosing a Blogging Tool and will be held September 27th at 11:00 am Pacific time. Other webinars coming soon will review software for receiving online donations, blogging, creating e-newsletters, managing databases, and more.

As always, NTEN members can attend NTEN webinars at discounted rates. For this series, webinars cost $60 for NTEN members and $100 for non-members. If you're not NTEN member and want to take advantage of the discounted rate, then join today! You can read more about this webinar series and register online.

Hi, Bob - from your note I imply that you think this is too much? We
are offering a lot of webinars as professional development
opportunities for members at different price points -- some free, some
for a cost. Since our membership is still only $25 a year, an absolute
bargain for a professional association by any measure (and considered
by many of our members as too little, incidentally), we generate some
revenue through fee-for-service offerings such as webinars that we
think are useful to you all (but you tell us!). Compared to many other
online/webinar offerings, they are actually very reasonable, based on
some pretty extensive scouting that we did (most start at around $100
for members, more for non-members).
We will be restructuring our member fees and webinar pricing based on
feedback we got from the community survey, comparable pricing in other
membership organizations, and our strategic goals, so you will see a
higher membership price in 2007 but more free services for members such
as free webinars and other benefits. But no worry -- for long-standing
members we'll grandfather you all in for a while! Thanks, Bob!

Am I the only one who has difficulty understanding a $60 per webinar
fee? Can someone explain how this fee was arrived at?
