Penguin Day Seattle
I'm super excited that once again, a Penguin Day will take place in conjunction with the NTC. This year, it's hosted by Aspiration and PICnet.
An Open Source Forum for Non-Profit Technology Staff and Developers Saturday March 25th, 9am to 5pm, in downtown Seattle http://www.penguinday.org.
A nonprofit staff person in Seattle wanting to learn about open source software for your work? A tech provider wanting it all? Are you a Seattle-based developer interested in open source software for the non-profit sector? Then Penguin Day Seattle is for you.
Penguin Day Seattle will bring together non-profit technology staff and open source software (OSS) developers for a day of learning and conversation. We'll demystify open source for nonprofits, frankly address the challenges of developing open source tools for non profits, and celebrate strengths and successes of open source in the nonprofit sector. Leading open source innovators, including One Northwest (Seattle) and FreeGeek (Portland) will share their stories and knowledge.

Penguin Day Seattle will feature a packed agenda of interactive workshops, round tables, speakers, speed geeking sessions and more, in the spirit of growing a community.
Penguin Day will:
- build new and enhanced relationships between key constituencies in the open source and nonprofit communities in Seattle;
- empower non-profit users and support providers to better communicate their needs and serve as active partners in the development and maturation of open source technology for nonprofits;
- challenge developers to provide flexible and appropriate open source solutions for nonprofit mission-critical applications;
- serve as a venue for learning and information sharing about development processes and nonprofit software needs;
- and result in increased energy and passion to fuel ongoing collaboration.
Penguin Day will take place right after the NTEN Non-Profit Technology Conference in Seattle, right in the downtown area.
